The 34-year-old actor recently received a verdict for harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Despite the circumstances, he emphasizes his reliance on God while awaiting the sentencing scheduled for February 6, 2024.
In response to inquiries about his positive mindset, he shared with TMZ on Monday: “God is good. God is great. Prayer. Faith.”
When pressed about his future acting plans, he declined to answer, stating to the outlet: “I think that’s enough for now.”
Shortly after being found guilty in December, Disney severed ties with Majors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His roles as Kang the Conqueror in ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ and the Disney+ series ‘Loki’ were affected.
Jonathan Majors, determined to clear his name, faced guilty verdicts for one count of intentional assault in the third degree and one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree.
In response, his lawyer Priya Chaudhry stated, “It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that.”
Chaudhry expressed disappointment, mentioning that despite not believing Jabbari’s account, the jury still found Majors to be somehow reckless during the incident. She continued, “Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these harrowing eight months. Mr. Majors still has faith in the process and looks forward to fully clearing his name.”
The actor was arrested on March 25 on assault and harassment charges following Jabbari’s accusation of assault in the backseat of a private car, triggered by her reading a text message on Majors’ phone. Jabbari claimed he forcefully retrieved the phone, causing injury to her finger, and alleged further physical aggression when she attempted to leave the car.
Throughout the nearly two-week trial, Majors maintained his innocence, with his defense asserting that Jabbari was the aggressor during the phone incident. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office presented a series of texts and an audio recording as evidence during the proceedings.
The evidence presented during the trial included messages in which Jonathan Majors seemed to urge Grace Jabbari not to go to the hospital after sustaining a head injury.
In an audio recording, Majors advised Jabbari to emulate figures like Coretta Scott King and Michelle Obama, emphasizing his own significance as “a great man” making substantial contributions not only for himself but also for his culture and the world.
Jonathan Majors faces the possibility of a one-year jail sentence when sentenced, and the outcome of the case may have severe repercussions for his Hollywood career. The Hollywood Reporter indicated that Majors was slated to lead the cast of ‘The Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ in 2026, but the project has now been renamed ‘Avengers 5.’
